EAJS RESPONSE TO EASTERN JAPAN EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI

EAJS IMMEDIATE MEASURES

1. EAJS early bird conference registration and fee payment for the EAJS conference in Tallinn deadline delayed until 15 April 2011.

2. EAJS encourages its members to donate the equivalent of 3 years membership fees (60 euro) to general humanitarian help organizations.

3. EAJS members coordinate activities to relieve Japanese scholars and students such as inviting them to their respective universities for short-term research and study.

We will continue to watch the monitor the situation and are open to suggestion from our members on how to help most effectively in the short and the longer term.

EAJS GENERAL RESPONSE TO MEMBERS

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the EAJS Council and all EAJS members I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to all those in Japan who have been affected by the current earthquake tragedy.

Please rest assured that all EAJS members inside and outside of Japan will do our utmost to help you recover from the disaster as soon as possible.
